lake pupuke from the air

The club is situated on the shore of Lake Pupuke in Auckland, away from the hustle and bustle of central city life. Swans, ducks, shags, pukeko and other birdlife enjoy the quiet with no motor boats permitted on the lake.

Access is via Northcote Road extension at the western side of the lake. The club room is up two short flights of stairs. There is a wheelchair accessible bathroom but no ramp access. However if a trainee needs ramp access to be able to attend, FANZ will continue the search for a more suitable venue.

Public transport is a convenient 3 minute walk away. The motorway turnoff is likewise 3 minutes away, against the main flow of traffic.

The club kitchen is equipped to heat your brought lunch. Cafe French Rendez-vous is situated at The Pumphouse historic building further around the shore and a larger shopping centre is a brisker walk to Takapuna.

Pupuke is actually a volcano, one of the oldest in Auckland, up to 150,000 years old. The freshwater lake occupies twin volcanic craters (or maar) linked in a heart shape. Separated from the sea by less than 200m at one point, it has a circumference of about 4.5 km and reaches 57m in depth. The lake is popular for recreational activities including the full lake circuit which is a 90 minute walk.

The admin team can now confirm that multi-hub venues are possible for specific segments, throughout New Zealand, depending on individual circumstances.
